DIY Cat Grass Bed Part One
All cat lovers know that cats have a hard time making up their mind when it comes to going outside. So why not help them out by making an indoor cat grass bed. Your cat will love you for it! You’ll increase your cat’s potential to lay about, and if you choose to use real/grown grass, you’ll be adding an awesome new source of fiber to their diet. In this article—that I’ve divided into two parts—you can choose from two DIY methods to create a grass bed for your cat. In part one, I show you how to make an artificial cat grass bed. You don’t have to wait for it to grow, you’ll be done in minutes. Your cat will have instant access to their new nap area. In part two of this article, I explain how to grow the kind of cat grass your kitty will quickly become addicted to eating. To get started, follow the easy instructions below.

What You’ll Need:

• Synthetic Grass (Amazon)

• A Durable Pan (Amazon)

Turf Illustration
Get yourself a nice piece of synthetic grass. If you don’t already have turf lying around the garage, I suggest Pet Zen Garden’s Premium Synthetic Grass. It’s rubber backed with drainage holes—just in case your cat decides to use it as a litter box. It’s not edible, but the up side is that it will last you a very long time. It has great reviews on Amazon, it’s super realistic and cats love it!!!

Wide Pan Illustration
You’ll need a pan large enough to hold your turf. If you don’t have one, then try a Crate Replacement Pan. It’s made to be the bottom of a metal dog crate, but it has a variety of uses and it will serve our needs just fine. Amazon offers a few sizes, so you can correspond your pan size with your turf size, making sure everything fits just right.

Grass placed on pan
Once you have your turf and a pan big enough to put it in, just place the grass in the pan. You can use velcro if you want the turf to attach more securely to the pan. Voila! Your cat has a new indoor/outdoor chill zone. If you’re really feeling like a generous cat owner…well, maybe owner is an exaggeration…let’s say friend, yes friends indeed. If you’re really feeling like a true pal, you’ll make your kitty’s day by sprinkling little catnip on his/her newly made cat bed.
